I know I've been scarce lately. I've been consumed with helping plan my church festival, planning my daughter's birthday party and participating in the Scrap Idol contest at SUN. But that's all over, except the SUN contest, which ends tomorrow. So I'll soon be back to normal -- or as close to it as I've ever been :) But I wanted to share this great deal with you:

My grandfather layout in the post below was named layout of the day at Scrapable for today! I'm super excited. It's my first such honor!

I almost didn't even make this page. I'm not big on one-photo layouts and I didn't think this photo was super spectacular. But Scrapable had a template challenge that went well with an Inspiration Lane "by the numbers" challenge. And this photo just "fit" for both. Plus the hubby came up behind me when I was pondering the picture and said "aww, that's my daddy" so I went for it.

I just bought this fun bundle by Misty Cato. The arrows and date bits caught my eye. And buying them separately was the same price as the whole bundle. Too bad my new computer (bought thanks to a coffee accident) doesn't yet have Photoshop. Yes, I'm having some serious withdrawal symptoms. :P

Freebie kit: Hanging around

Here is my first kit, created for the monthly color challenge at Inspiration Lane. We were given these colors, and right away I thought of a monkey in the jungle.

The kits contains five papers, two frames, two ribbon-buttons and one image of monkeys on a vine. I forgot to put the preview in the zip file but here it is. Shadows are not included. Click on it to download.

Welcome!

My name is Jen, and I'm just starting to design, so I'll be offering lots of freebies and asking those of you who use them for feedback.

I've been scrapbooking for about 12 years, and doing digiscrapping for the last three. I joined the creative team for Inspiredbydomininc Designs this year and am also doing a little CT work for JayaPrem's Hangout. They, and some of my fellow CT members, gave me some coaching on my first kit, which you will see soon.

The challenges at Inspiration Lane and Scrapable have really helped me grow as a digiscrapper, which has also given me more confidence to jump into designing.

I really love multi-photo layouts and will be posting freebie templates with options for lots of photos. I see way too many one-photo templates out there. Some people like that, but it's just not me. Beyond that, I wouldn't say I have a "style" yet so we'll see what develops as we go along :)

That's me as a designer/scrapper in a nutshell. But I'm an open book. If you want to know anything, just ask :)
